These terms govern your use of this website. They do not govern any engagement with relocatejersey.je — that is set out separately in an engagement letter, which takes precedence over anything here.

The information on this site

It is general information about relocating to Jersey. It is not legal, tax, immigration or investment advice, it is not tailored to your circumstances, and reading it creates no professional relationship between us.

Jersey thresholds, rates and rules change. Every page carrying a figure shows the date it was checked against a primary source, and you should confirm any figure with gov.je, Locate Jersey or the relevant authority before acting on it. We update these pages quarterly and cannot warrant that a figure is current between updates.

No guaranteed outcomes

Nothing on this site should be read as a promise that an application for residential status, a licence or a permission will succeed. Those decisions rest with the relevant Minister or with the Business Hub, part of Employment, Social Security and Housing.

How we are paid

Our fee is fixed, quoted in writing before work begins, and payable by you. It is not an hourly rate and not a percentage of the price of any property you buy or rent, so it does not increase if you spend more or if the move takes longer.

We may also receive a commission, referral fee or introduction payment from a third party involved in your move — for example an agent, developer, landlord, removals firm, bank or adviser. Where that arises, we will tell you in writing which party is offering it and what it is for, before we accept it. You may instruct us to decline it, and we will.

We do not act for sellers or landlords. Third-party costs such as advocates’ fees, tax advice, stamp duty, removals and shipping are yours and are paid direct to the people doing that work.

Liability

We accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on the general information published here. That is not a disclaimer of our obligations to clients, which are set out in the engagement letter and are not limited by this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Jersey, and the courts of Jersey have exclusive jurisdiction.
