A new firm, and honest about it
relocatejersey.je is an independent Jersey relocation advisory. We are new. We have no client list to show you, no testimonials, and no case studies — and rather than invent them, we would prefer to tell you that plainly and let you judge the work on the writing, the process and the price.
What we do have is a clear position. Jersey relocation is currently served by a good free government service that is necessarily the island's, excellent law firms whose briefings are accurate and rarely updated, estate agents funded by the transaction, and overseas agencies selling a "Jersey golden visa" that does not exist. None of them is the person sitting on your side of the table for the whole thing.
Who you are dealing with
Emma Warburton, Head of Relocations.Emma moved to Jersey sixteen years ago to relocate a business — the same problem most of this site is about. She has taught in Jersey schools since, and written for Jersey advocates and accountancy firms as a freelance, which is where the habit of dating every figure came from.
The schools part matters more than it sounds. Jersey’s system is small enough that the people running it are not anonymous, and Emma has worked inside it for sixteen years. She can tell you how the sectors differ, what the fee-paying route actually costs, and which questions to put to a head before you commit a child to a school.
She cannot get anyone a place, and neither can anybody else. What she can do is stop you finding out in August what you needed to know in January.
Greg Bestwick ACA prepares the High Value Residency financial evidence. Greg is a member associate of the ICAEW and the founder and Managing Director of BestwickRussell Chartered Accountants, which he established in 2014. Before that he spent over ten years in Jersey finance, managing teams at one of the big four practices and at a provider of alternative asset services working with some of the largest funds in Europe.
A 2(1)(e) application turns on whether the financial evidence stands up. Greg does that work. We do not, and we will not pretend otherwise.
What the team does
- Finding somewhere to live
- Rented or bought, and the search starts with your residential status rather than your budget — in Jersey what you are permitted to occupy is settled before price is. We search the open market and the part of it that never reaches a portal. Jersey is a discreet island and the better houses often change hands without ever being marketed, because the owners do not want them marketed. Reaching that stock is a matter of knowing the people, and we do.

- The shipping, and the order things have to happen in — which almost nobody tells you until it is too late to change.
- Pets
- From the UK, a pet simply travels with you; Jersey shares the UK’s pet travel arrangements, so there is none of the paperwork an international move demands. Where it is not that simple, or where someone is collecting an animal rather than bringing one, we arrange the transport — including by private charter when that is the right way to move an animal rather than the expensive one.
- After you land
- Driving licence exchange, the registrations that only become urgent once you are here, and introductions — to people who have made the same move and to the networks worth being in.
We support the whole family, not only the applicant. The applicant is rarely the one who decides whether the move worked.
Four things we hold to
You are told who pays us, for what
Our fee is fixed, agreed in writing, and does not rise with the price of your house. If an agent, developer, landlord, removals firm, bank or adviser offers us a commission or introduction payment, we tell you in writing before we accept it and you can tell us to decline it.
We will tell you not to move
Deciding against Jersey is a legitimate outcome of a first conversation, and a cheaper one than discovering it after the shipping container has sailed. So is deciding you can do this yourself.
Every figure is dated and sourced
Jersey thresholds move and superseded numbers stay in circulation for years. Everything numeric on this site carries the date it was checked against gov.je or Locate Jersey, and we re-check quarterly.
We stay inside our lane
We are not a law firm, a tax practice or a regulated financial services business. We coordinate the regulated people who are, and we say so rather than blurring it.
On Locate Jersey
Locate Jersey is the Government of Jersey's inward investment team. It gives free, confidential advice to high value residents and to businesses moving to the island, facilitates the application process, and provides a single point of contact inside government. It is good and you should use it.
We will never tell you otherwise, imply it is hard to reach, or suggest that access to Jersey runs through us. Saying any of that would be false, and under the Consumer Protection (Unfair Practices) (Jersey) Law it would also be unlawful.
The difference is whose interests we hold. Locate Jersey attracts the right people and businesses to Jersey. We work for one client at a time, which means we can tell you the property is wrong, the timeline will not hold, the adviser is over-charging, or that Jersey is not the island for you.

It costs nothing, it produces a written plan you keep, and it is the fastest way to find out whether we are useful to you. Sometimes the answer is that we are not.
